Description
Beitzel Corporation is seeking a motivated Field Surveyor to join our team. In this role, youll put your surveying skills to work in the field, supporting a wide variety of site and construction projects. From excavation layouts to construction staking, you will play an important role in ensuring projects are accurate, efficient, and successful. This position requires significant travel, as you will spend much of your time on the road working at different job sites. As a Field Surveyor, you will be responsible for completing survey work to support operations, assisting with conceptual site development, and providing accurate layouts for construction projects. To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of surveying and civil work, be proficient with modern survey tools and equipment, and maintain the flexibility to work extended hours when projects require it.
What You'll Do
- Perform topography surveys, construction layout, control surveys and as-built surveys using both conventional and GPS techniques
- Operate various survey instruments including Trimble GPS equipment, levels, Nikon total station, and Trimble S7 Robotic station
- Adhere to all safety-related and compliance rules and regulations
- Maintain accurate field notes, data, photographs, and records essential to projects
- Download and supply accurate and complete survey data to the Project Team
- Sit, talk, hear, read, write and type
- Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
What You'll Bring
3+ years of Construction/Grading Survey Crew Chief experience required, 5+ years preferred
Prior Construction Inspection Experience Preferred
Valid drivers license required
Must possess attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and exactness
Possesses computer skills with familiarity of Microsoft Office programs required
Well versed in Computer Aided Design - AutoCAD
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or review
Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging customer needs
