Install Cutting Edge Technology on some of the Worlds Larges Mining Equipment
- If you love travel, this role spends 16-18 weeks of the year visiting large mining operations in Canada and the United States.
- Are you good with your hands? Excellent, you will be installing computer equipment and fuel meters on trucks the size of a house.
- Are you analytical? Help us analyze the data that we generate to ensure our equipment is performing to perfection!
Cascadia Scientific is located in Surrey, Canada and we help the mining industry reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gases.
- Perform equipment installations at customer sites including installing inline fuel meters in the diesel fuel delivery system, connecting to CANBUS networks, vehicle power, GPS equipment and wiring harnesses to connect all equipment
- Repair or replace equipment at customer sites when needed
- In the office, provide weekly reports of equipment issues and how they can be resolved
- Complete all specified site safety requirements, orientations and other induction procedures
- Review equipment drawings and schematics to identify details of hydraulic and electrical integration
- Communicate with customer staff to arrange equipment access and train on site technicians when needed
- Perform final inspection and functionality of equipment
- Use a computer to perform calibration and diagnostics
- Create and complete Work Orders in CMMS program
- Tracking site inventory of spare parts
- Strong mechanical aptitude related to low voltage electrical installations and inserting fuel meters into large fuel lines
- Excellent understanding of computer equipment and diagnostic tools
- Strong communication skills for internal and customer communication
- Safety first attitude
- A background in Mechanical Engineering or heavy duty mechanic experience is considered invaluable
- Must be able to travel within Canada and the United States
- Travel is typically 1 week at a time
- Must be physically capable to climbing ladders and getting into cramped spaces to install equipment
