Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric utility that provides power to rural Wright County and western Hennepin County. The Cooperative has been a corporate citizen to the area since 1937 and currently serves more than 50,000 electric accounts.
The Facility Technician helps the Facility Manager ensure the headquarters building and grounds run smoothly and efficiently by performing routine maintenance, monitoring and refilling supplies, maintaining equipment, and providing event support. The Technician will handle a variety of tasks to keep the facility functional and well-maintained to benefit our employees, members, customers, and visitors to our building. This part-time role is perfect for someone looking to balance work with other commitments, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects.
Pay: $20-25.00/hour
Hours: 15 hours/week
Work Schedule: 7:30-10:00am Monday-Friday
Benefits: This position is eligible for holiday pay and paid time off. It is not eligible for health or retirement plan benefits.
Location: WH headquarters are in Rockford, MN. Rockford is located on Hwy. 55, 15 minutes west of I-494.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily housekeeping:
•Perform daily upkeep tasks, including cleaning, dusting, and general maintenance of the facility and its equipment.
•Ensure bathrooms are stocked with soap, hand towels, and toilet paper.
•Check and stock refrigerators in the conference rooms for water and soda.
•Ensure the lunchroom is stocked with forks, knives, spoons, plates, napkins, and bowls.
•Pick up the newspaper by the front entrance and place it in the lunchroom.
•Pick up specialty beverages for meetings.
•Monitor beverage inventory and inform the Facilities Manager about the quantities needed for orders.
•Ensure clocks throughout the building display the correct time.
•Manage and maintain janitorial supplies.
•Maintaining records of repairs, maintenance activities, and any related documentation.
Routine maintenance, performed weekly or monthly:
•Address minor plumbing, electrical, or carpentry issues. Replace light bulbs when requested.
•Service the soda machine in the warehouse.
•Wipe down the exterior of the ice machine weekly using soap and water.
•Help with ice machine and inline water filter changes.
•Check air fresheners in restroom and change canisters and batteries.
•Check emergency exit lights throughout the building for proper function.
•Change filters in air purifiers throughout the building.
•Replace filters in HVAC units.
•Inspect fire extinguishers monthly.
•Pick up facility supplies as needed.
•Identify and address potential safety hazards within the facility.
Specialized tasks, performed on an ad hoc basis:
•Assist with snow removal, landscaping, or other outdoor maintenance duties.
•Patrol the lot and ground for debris and trash.
•Pull weeds in landscaped areas.
•Spot clean throughout the building.
•Salt sidewalks during winter weather.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
•Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry is helpful
Skills:
•Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
•Knowledge of or willing to learn facilities ticketing system or CMMS
•Ability to follow oral and written instructions, maintain a cooperative working relationship
•Ability to effectively communicate with staff, supervisors, vendors, and other stakeholders
•Ability to provide helpful and courteous assistance to others.
Physical Requirements:
•Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office and warehouse setting.
•Frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder height, kneeling, sitting, lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs., occasional pushing/pulling, twisting at the waist, ladder use, and manual dexterity.
