FortisAlberta is seeking an experienced Facilities Projects Supervisor to lead the planning, governance, and delivery of facility infrastructure projects across our building portfolio.

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Capital Management & Facilities, this role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. You will provide technical leadership, oversee contractors and vendors, and collaborate across the organization to integrate operational needs, technical standards, and long‑term asset strategies.

Job Description

- Lead the facilities project portfolio, setting priorities, managing risk, and establishing governance and technical standards.

- Oversee the full project lifecycle to ensure compliance with corporate procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.

- Establish and maintain performance standards across building systems including mechanical, electrical, structural, and life‑safety systems.

- Lead contractor and vendor oversight, including contract performance, cost control, and invoice approval.

- Track, report, and present project milestones, deliverables, metrics, and corrective actions to leadership.

- Support annual capital and operating budget planning, including preparing and validating forecasts.

- Coordinate building inspections and assessments and approve or recommend remediation actions.

- Investigate and resolve facility‑related project issues while ensuring adherence to safety policies and standards.

Qualifications

- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Minimum seven years of experience managing facilities or infrastructure projects.

- Project Management designation (such as Project Management Professional or equivalent) is an asset.

- Experience with SAP, CAD, and FM systems is an asset.

- Proven experience leading contractors and delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary facility projects.

- Strong technical knowledge of building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, controls, and fire protection.

- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence outcomes.

- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.

Important Information

- Permanent, full-time role.

- Located at our Airdrie office.

- Monday – Friday schedule.

- Frequent travel throughout the service territory is required for this role including overnights.
