Performs skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, repair, and general labor duties to ensure company-owned properties, facilities, and grounds are maintained in safe, functional, and efficient operating condition.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of company-owned office buildings, treatment plants, well enclosures, storage tanks, and related facilities.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on roads, driveways, fencing, and site infrastructure.
- Operate snow removal and ice control equipment, including snowplows and salt spreaders.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, and woodchippers.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Complete pre-storm preparation activities and post-storm damage assessment and cleanup.
- Assist skilled trades personnel (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with repair and construction projects.
- Operate earthmoving and heavy equipment, including dozers, loaders, and excavators, as assigned.
- Participate in the Company’s Emergency Response Plan and respond to emergency situations as required.
- Maintain compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards.
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background check
- Ability to successfully complete a respirator medical evaluation and wear respiratory protective equipment as required.
- Demonstrated experience in ground maintenance required.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Experience in construction, building maintenance, or related field.
- Experience operating construction and maintenance equipment strongly.
- Working knowledge of basic mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate a variety of maintenance, construction, and groundskeeping equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and learn maintenance procedures, processes, and methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work overtime, weekends, and during emergency response situations as needed.
- Requires the ability to exert more than 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or more than 50lbs of force frequently and/or in more than lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and work around vehicles and equipment
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in varied weather and environmental conditions
- Job requires exposure to outside environmental conditions
- Exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, and gases.
- As conditions require, ability to wear respiratory protective equipment includes a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for extended periods.
