We are seeking an individual to fulfill the responsibilities of a Contract Facilities Engineer in the Operations team. This role is responsible for efficiently managing and executing projects in both greenfield and brownfield facilities requiring engineering design, fabrication, and construction of oilfield equipment.
- Manage 3rd party relationships with engineering teams, vendors and contractors
- Follow MOC processes for alternative analysis, design, execution, and close-out
- Optimize the operating facilities (separators, compressors, gathering systems) by analyzing data and recommending changes while working closely with operations and 3rd party engineering teams
- Run economic analysis on opportunities as required
- Assist in developing cost estimates and post audits of projects
- Identify and review opportunities for optimization in cost and safety
- Interface with project team members to complete assigned tasks
- Undertake calculations, analysis, and simulations to verify 3rd party design and equipment sizing recommendations
- Proficient and competent with process equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, compressor sizing and relief system design
- Participate in P&ID/HAZOP reviews; review control narratives and shut down keys
- Provide direction to EPCs, vendors and field construction teams
- Support field operations personnel with technical applications, change requests and troubleshooting
- Provide mechanical input to PIDs for valves, skids, vessels, rotating equipment, etc.
- Pipeline sizing and wall thickness calculations to ASME B31.3 and CSA Z662
- Experienced Professional Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience. EPCM background with gas processing experience is preferrable.
· Proficient with VMG Symmetry and related process simulation/equipment sizing software
· Proficient with Compressor sizing programs (Ariel7, Powerflow, Mycom, etc..)
- Certification with First Aid, WHMIS, TDG and H2S Alive Safety preferred
- Keen awareness of budget, schedule constraints and safety
- Previous experience in Pipeline and Pipeline facilities would be an asset
- Previous experience in Sour Gas Processing, and Oil Battery projects would be an asset
- Previous field experience in an operating facility or construction would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
- Knowledgeable with applicable industry codes and standards, such as ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, ASME VIII, API 650, API 610, etc.
- Proficient with regulatory requirements pertaining to facilities, pipeline, pressure vessel’s and piping design
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Fisher Valve Spec Manager. Farris Sizemaster. Abadata and GeoScout experience would be considered an asset
- Experience using 3D AutoCAD and Navisworks or equivalent would be considered an asset
