Our project estimator team drives our company to find new customers, retain current customers, and develop innovative solutions for bettering our product and service. As a Project Estimator, you will play a crucial role in establishing relationships and marketing our company's brand in a way that is positive, honest, and professional. The work you do on the phone is directly linked to successful outcomes resulting from customer retention and word-of-mouth sales. - Facilitate the entire sales process from the initiation of the original call through finalization of account set-up for each customer you speak with and engage. Owning and growing your client engagement.
- Provide competitive, yet profitable estimates to contractors, municipalities, and private parties.
- Work closely with the Divisional Accounts Manager and support outside sales with estimates and follow ups. Initiate contact and correspondence with your Division Manager, the Outside Sales Manager and all stakeholders as you land the sale, adjust any needs due to client requests and provide solutions to any challenges that arise: open communication and documentation is essential.
- Acquire background information on new clients and gain an understanding of what they bring to the table. Know your clients.
- Research and understand our equipment, be familiar with each equipment's function and purpose, so you can confidently upsell our customers and highlight our services.
- Maintain an organized workspace and properly file documents, updates, and product information so it is readily accessible for reference and to answer questions. Open and candid communication with all internal stakeholders.
- Listen attentively to consumer questions and provide answers that are knowledgeable and insightful to encourage sales.
- Showcase the company's strengths and highlight our brand by talking exclusively about the characteristics that make our organization unique.
- Participate in weekly meetings to discuss benchmarks and personal as well as team goals for the upcoming week.
- Analyze required documents, blue prints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding, determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product, preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
- Understand, develop and maintain site logistics plan with superintendent.
- Prepare and execute the bidding and estimating functions of projects including the preparation of bid instructions, pre-bid meetings and sub-contractor buy-out.
- Analyze actual productivity against the estimate you prepared and make site visits as needed to gather relevant information.
- Monitor and manage the prevailing wage for the project for payroll and submit bi-weekly certified payroll reports.
- High school diploma
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain an organized and professional workspace; highly organized
- Demonstrated skills with working collaboratively with the team and also work individually
- Knowledge and proven experience with negotiation and problem solving confidently
- Experience in customer service, sales, and/or customer retention
- Previous experience in project estimating, cost estimating and sales functions
- Monday to Friday
