ERP Business Process Leadto work with our team in
Edmonton, AB.This position will report to the Director of ERP Systems.
Responsibilities
- Understands the entire SAP solution end to end and business processes to ensure that the solution meets business requirements with minimum customization.
- Responsible for defining corporate SAP strategy with regards to Production Planning, MRP, Forecasting, Capacity Planning, e-PPDS and IBP.
- Responsible to drive adoption of end-to-end SAP solutions and drives strategic initiatives the rollout of new functionality and into new departments / locations / plants.
- Manage and optimize SAP business processes, ensuring they align with organizational objectives while minimizing customizations & maximize use of standard SAP functionality.
- Collaborate with business and ERP and IT teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and support SAP system adoption across the organization.
- Process Design and Optimization: Analyzing existing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing optimized processes leveraging SAP functionalities.
- Process Standardization: Developing and implementing standardized business processes across the organization, promoting consistency and efficiency.
- Toolset implementation: Champion and drive the implementation of a Business Process Management and Testing Automation tool to formalize the ERP Business processes and their associated validation procedures, documentation and Security - Build process to maintain the information for these tools.
- SAP System Implementation: Leading or participating in the implementation of new SAP modules or upgrades, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with business users, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate process changes, and address any issues or concerns.
- Testing and Validation: Coordinate, automate and support test phases like User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that standard SAP configurations meet business requirements, identifying issues early to avoid custom fixes.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to support standardized processes and ensure audit compliance.
- Change Management: Managing the organizational changes associated with implementing new SAP processes, ensuring user adoption and minimal resistance.
- Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to SAP processes, identifying areas for further optimization and improvement.
- Aids the organization to define new or changing business requirements including identifying benefits and creating business cases.
- Defines, scopes, and estimates solutions (SAP and non-SAP) to meet the functional requirements for business systems.
- Conducts workshops for defining business requirements and development of test scripts.
- Advises on testing approach and supports test execution.
- Leads defect resolution process.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in SAP implementations, business process management, or supply chain operations
- At least 2–3 full-cycle SAP implementations (from blueprint to go-live) in a lead or key contributor role, preferably in SAP S/4HANA.
- 3–5 years in a leadership or lead role, managing cross-functional teams or projects, preferably in a global or multi-site environment.
- Experience in defining and executing corporate SAP strategies, including module selection, process design, and rollout to multiple locations or plants.
- Proven track record of leading business process optimization initiatives, minimizing customizations, and maximizing standard SAP functionality.
- Experience in stakeholder management, collaborating with cross-functional teams (business, IT, ERP teams) and managing senior-level stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test scenario development, defect resolution, and validation of SAP configurations.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, redesign, and standardize business processes using SAP best practices.
- Experience implementing BPM and testing automation tools (e.g., SAP Solution Manager, Tricentis, or similar) and maintaining associated documentation and security protocols.
- Experience leading organizational change initiatives, including user training, adoption strategies, and managing resistance to new processes or systems.
- Experience leading SAP Rollouts and Upgrades: Experience leading or supporting SAP module rollouts to new departments, locations, or plants, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Experience planning, running and driving outcomes from Requirement Gathering and Workshops - Proven ability to conduct workshops, define business requirements, and create business cases with clear benefits.
- Experience assessing risks, documenting processes (e.g., SOPs), and ensuring audit compliance in collaboration with IT, HR and ERP teams
- Experience working with third-party vendors or consultants for SAP implementations or toolset integrations.
- Superior written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities
- Experience in industries with complex supply chains, such as discreet manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceuticals, or consumer goods, where production planning and forecasting are critical.
- Familiarity with global operations, multi-plant environments, or regulated industries (e.g., API, ISO standards).
