Equipment & Trailer Mechanic |C&D Scrap Metal Recyclers

The Role

At C&D the Equipment Mechanic works on various types of machinery. This includes working on trucks, trailers, forklifts, baling machines, alligator sheers and multiple other pieces of equipment. The role involves making sure that all vehicles and equipment are operating safely and reducing downtime.

Responsibilities

- Inspecting and diagnosing equipment for mechanical issues.

- Performing repairs, maintenance, and preventative maintenance of heavy equipment.

- Troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on machinery.

- Communicating equipment status to management and other mechanics.

- Traveling to project sites for inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks.

- Complying with safety policies and practices.

- Completing necessary paperwork assigned by project management.

- Specializing in inspecting and repairing mechanical systems.

- Responding to issues and concerns.

- Identifying client needs.

- Conducting inspections.

- Performing corrective measures and repairs as needed.

- Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.

- Welding.

- All other responsibilities that may be determined as relevant to the role.

Location & commitments

- Full-time.

- There will be traveling to all our locations in the Houston area.

Candidate requirements

- Mechanical Experience in Equipment and 18 wheelers

- Detail oriented.

- Computer literacy and familiarity with basic Office programs, including the ability to learn.

- Minimum of 5+ years of experience
