The 16-mile corridor requires advanced logistical coordination, real-time maintenance, and cost-effective utilization of heavy equipment to support continuous field operations across multiple segments.

The Heavy Equipment Manager is responsible for managing the full life cycle of the SR400 Express Lanes Project’s construction equipment fleet. This includes planning, sourcing, dispatching, maintaining, and tracking all owned and rented equipment required to support civil, structural, utility, and systems installation activities. The role also provides leadership to field equipment personnel and ensures compliance with corporate, regulatory, and project-specific standards (e.g., GDOT, OSHA, EPA).

- Supervise field mechanics, lube techs, and equipment logistics staff across multiple active construction zones.

- Monitor and manage preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, fueling, and equipment certification status.

- Coordinate daily dispatch and mobilization of equipment between corridor segments to meet production and project schedule demands.

- Collaborate with construction superintendents and segment managers to forecast equipment needs based on lookahead schedules.

- Analyze equipment utilization data; recommend terminations, transfers, or disposals to optimize cost and reduce idle time.

- Oversee equipment safety compliance, including inspections, operator certifications, and OSHA/DOT requirements.

- Maintain and audit documentation in alignment with project standards: maintenance logs, calibration records, inspections, and EDMS uploads.

- Prepare internal chargeback rates and support project cost coding accuracy for internal rental allocations.

- Support project audit readiness by ensuring full compliance with GDOT and federal oversight requirements.

- Interface with external vendors for warranty claims, lease returns, and technical support.

- Contribute to construction risk mitigation by maintaining operationally ready and safe equipment for critical path activities.

- Minimum 5+ years of equipment management experience in heavy civil, transportation, or industrial construction environments.

- Demonstrated knowledge of heavy earthmoving, lifting, and utility support equipment.

- Working knowledge of licensing, DOT/OSHA/EPA regulations, and equipment certification standards.
