Braen Stone Industries, the leading supplier of construction materials including stone, sand, asphalt, septic materials, recycled materials and agricultural limestone, is currently seeking an Equipment Assistant Manager to join our Equipment team.
The Equipment Assistant Manager assists in responsibility for oversight of the Braen Equipment Division at various locations. These responsibilities include purchasing, equipment usage management, maintenance, repair, inventory, transportation, storage, and cleaning in conjunction with the Equipment Manager. The Equipment Assistant Manager will always execute these tasks safely while serving as an example of the Company’s Vision and Values of Service, Integrity & Respect.
· Direct Reports: In coordination with the Equipment Manager, supervises a team of mechanics at the Northern and Southern quarry locations
· Responsible for assigning Mechanics their daily work detail and prioritizing repairs
Responsibilities/Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:
· Responsible for the scheduling and oversight of all equipment repairs with outside vendors
· Responsible for repair and preventative maintenance of entire equipment fleet
· Oversight of shop upkeep, ordering and service records
· Review all repair orders, keeping electronic and paper trail of repairs completed
· Document equipment hours and mileage daily, monthly and year end; and make any needed corrections and maintain monthly allocations on equipment
· Initial point of contact for review of daily needed repairs from all various divisions and locations
· Work in tandem with Safety Administrator to administer vehicle compliance; registrations, vehicle cameras, keeping an ongoing list of needs
· Assist Equipment Manager/ Procurement Manager and CFO with updating vehicle insurance records and updating all equipment values (depreciation etc.)
· Assisting as needed with unloading expected and unexpected deliveries from vendors, serving as Braen liaison
· Review all electronic generated Job Site Solutions reports, Idle Reports and Operator driven events and communicate them to management
· Gather information and watch for deficiencies on Equipment in Vision Link
· Continually look to better equipment utilization based on hours and data from Job Site Solution programs
· Communicate with operators about equipment issues and or operator events
· Maintain communication and professional relationships with all managers within the organization as well as vendors
· Monitor parts and filters that must be kept in stock
· Review all oil samples on equipment and inform accordingly on results
· Maintain working knowledge of equipment- both old and new
· Review of all Pre-Shift inspections for all Companies
· Utilize all available technology and advise on other technologies deemed appropriate and necessary
· 3- 5 years’ experience in a quarry operations role
· Must be Company & Safety oriented; maintain required MSHA certificates and records
· Must be a team player; effectively and professionally with all other departments and levels of management and staff
· Attend any industry-related courses, seminars or trainings
· Full participation in Thayer Leadership Development programming (or other leadership training)
· Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 6am to 4pm. Saturday and evening work may be required
· Available to respond to emergency calls outside of working hours
