Primarily responsible for operating and maintaining numerous styles, types and sizes of hydraulic cranes, forklifts, backhoes, along with any other type of lifting or hoisting equipment that would aid personnel in safely performing their job.
- Operates equipment assigned by supervisor, but not limited to just operating equipment.
- Inspects equipment and rigging each shift, prior to use.
- Fills out Care Card prior to making a lift with a crane.
- Serves as the liaison for turnarounds and capital projects (optional).
- Works safely and follow all GSP’s.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
- High School diploma or GED required
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment operation in the petrochemical or like industry required
- NCCCO or NCCER certification Fixed Cab Certification Required
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in heavy equipment operation in the petrochemical or like industry preferred
- NCCCO or NCCER certification for Rough Terrain (up to 80 ton), Telescopic Boom and Swing Cab Cranes preferred
- Must be able to operate a wide variety of industrial equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, cranes, forklift, back hoe and road grater, or any other lifting/hoisting equipment that would aid personnel in safely performing their job
- Responsible for documenting and performing daily equipment inspections
- Providing expert ability to operate heavy equipment in an industrial setting
- Safely erecting and dismantling boom extensions (jibs) on various cranes operating in the plant
- Inspecting, maintaining and safely operating different styles, types and sizes of civil equipment
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Effectively communicates all daily activities to supervision.
- Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Port Arthur Refinery
