Job Title: Equipment Department Assistant

Job Summary: The Equipment Department Assistant is responsible for supporting the Equipment Department Manager in the administration and coordination of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory management. This role involves creating and opening and closing work orders, reviewing daily vehicle inspections, managing the Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program, and assisting with additional job related service/ repairs needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Work Order Management:
•Create and schedule work orders based on findings from Daily Vehicle and Equipment Inspection forms.
•Review daily vehicle inspections for missing information and submit corrective actions as needed.
•Perform daily and weekly reviews of open work orders to ensure timely progress and closing.
Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program Administration:
•Obtain weekly hour meter readings in B2W.
•Assist the Equipment Department Manager with coordination of services and repairs with vendors, managers, and SCC mechanics.
•Manage the work order open/close process.
•Order and return parts as needed.
•Collect and store documentation related to equipment maintenance and repairs.
New Equipment Preparation:
•Assist in preparing new equipment for startup, including the installation of decals, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and triangle kits.
Inventory Management:
•Manage the inventory and ordering of fire extinguishers, decals, inspection books, and other necessary supplies.
•Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly documented and stored.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; technical education training or certification in equipment management or maintenance is a plus.
•Previous experience in equipment management, maintenance coordination, or related field.
•Proficiency in using equipment management software (e.g., B2W).
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve issues.
•Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
•The ability to work collaboratively with vendors, managers, and mechanics.
Working Conditions:
•This position may require occasional lifting of heavy equipment and supplies.
•The role involves both office work and hands-on tasks in the equipment yard.
