About This Job

The Environmental Manager provides office and field support to the EHS&S Department. This role manages the general monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements required by federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations. As an EHS&S team member, this position will assist with IMTT’s ability to ensure the company is in compliance with all applicable environmental regulatory and internal requirements. This role will be based in Geismar, Louisiana, and shall be performed in a way so as to promote operational excellence with respect to EHS&S compliance and culture. Responsibilities* Perform a variety of monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting requirements to maintain compliance with the facility’s Title V air permit. These efforts include, but are not limited to:

•

Monthly and annual emission calculations for storage and loading operations, combustion sources and other sources of emissions

•

Monthly and annual tracking of throughput, hours of operation, fuel usage, and other operational metrics

•

Records collection and management for control devices (such as methanol condenser, carbon beds, caustic scrubbers, thermal oxidizers, and vapor recovery systems)

•

Compilation and preparation of Title V reports, including annual emission inventory statements, monitoring and deviation reports, annual compliance certifications, etc.

•

Maintain and manage the following plans/programs:

•

Spill, Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC)

•

Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)

•

Waste Minimization Plan

•

Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Plan

•

Startup, Shutdown, Malfunction (SSM) Plan

•

Perform field inspections related to environmental compliance at the terminal;

•

Manage solid and hazardous waste activities, including sampling, analysis and proper disposal;

•

Assist with air and water permit renewals and modifications;

•

Manage and/or participate in regulatory agency inspections, customer audits, and internal audits;

•

Conduct new service reviews for compliance with current Title V permit;

•

Provide support to the Operations and Maintenance Departments on environmental matters;

•

Assist with the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of various programs, policies, and procedures, as applicable;

•

Attend outside training and acquire environmental accreditations, certifications, etc., as applicable;

•

Train employees in environmental subject matters and assist in developing related training and presentation materials;

•

Assist with response to environmental incidents, as needed; and

•

Other duties, as required, to ensure ongoing compliance with environmental regulations and internal environmental company policies.

Education and Experience* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental studies, ecological sciences, or another related technical field;

•

5+ years of practical experience with environmental programs;

•

Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.);

•

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record;

•

Successful completion of drug screen;

•

Ability to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) card; and

•

Ability to learn and adapt in a growing and changing environment.

Skills and Abilities* Supervisory and management skills.

•

Good organizational skills and attention to detail;

•

Knowledge of basic and advanced chemical/petroleum industry parameters including but not limited to flash point, boiling point, pH, solubility, and density;

•

Proficient in Microsoft Applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Powerpoint;

•

Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language;

•

Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language;

•

Ability to make decisions in a variable environment;

•

Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment;

•

Ability to interact with vendors, service providers, and employees in a professional and courteous manner;

•

Ability to work closely with others with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others; and

•

Ability to represent IMTT in a professional and positive manner.

Hours of Work* Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

This position requires overtime and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.

This job operates in an office environment as well as the outside environment.

•

This job requires the ability to perform climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling and moderate lifting up to 25 pounds. Employee must be able to work in confined spaces, over water and not be afraid of heights.

Must be able to pass a physical ability test, and drug test. This position is subject to random drug screening.

•

The ability to see (20/20) and hear either naturally or through the use of corrective lenses or hearing aids.

•

The ability to wear a respirator as certified through a medical evaluation by a licensed physician.
