GEI is seeking an ambitious Environmental Project Manager that understands and can implement the seller-doer model to support the growth of GEI in the Midwest. The position can be located in either our Appleton, Green Bay, or Milwaukee, Wisconsin office. The ideal candidate will embrace teamwork and collaboration both internally at GEI and with our clients. The position involves work on projects generally throughout Wisconsin and Michigan. The position has tremendous growth opportunities for your career as you work collaboratively with clients and GEI’s experts in the environmental field. You will work primarily on energy projects for private and public clients. As part of our multidisciplinary project teams, you will have an important role providing substantial coordination efforts with existing and new clients to ensure their environmental compliance needs are met; project management; and working as part of our team to solve an array of environmental and waste management issues in the energy landscape. Our Project Managers are supported by an internal network of billing staff and also receive development training opportunities throughout the year.
Our Midwest environmental team is experiencing long-term sustainable growth and is looking to bring in new team members that can help exemplify our team approach to work. The team currently offers a variety of services including environmental due diligence, environmental and hazardous materials assessments, environmental compliance and permitting, waste management, and more. Clients include utilities, private and public clients within the markets we serve. Essential Responsibilities & Duties
•Manage and implement environmental projects throughout Wisconsin and Michigan.
•Be an active part of client program management. This may include project scope evaluation to prepare project scopes of services, attendance of client conference calls and site meetings, environmental permit and compliance evaluation, completion of hazardous materials assessments and workload planning.
•As part of an integrated team, work closely and collaboratively with other project environmental specialists, engineers, project managers, and project directors to execute projects effectively and efficiently.
•Coordinate and prepare environmental documents to comply with state and federal regulations for projects involving energy and natural resources.
•Exemplify commitment to technical excellence balanced with client-expectations and satisfaction, and profitable project management.
•Manage the technical, financial and client relationship aspects of a variety of environmental projects with a geographic emphasis in Wisconsin and Michigan.
•Perform other duties as required and that advance your skills and environmental career.
Minimum Qualifications
•At least 10+ years of relevant experience working on and managing projects. Strong preference to experience with utility projects.
•Must have project scoping, budgeting and workload planning experience
•Knowledge and expertise in environmental issues related to environmental contaminants, waste and hazardous materials management for projects in Wisconsin and Michigan.
•Outstanding problem-solving, organization, coordination, writing, people, and verbal communication skills.
•Solid work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
•Valid U.S. driver’s license
