Environmental Manager

Golden Vertex Corp is a mining company based in Bullhead City, AZ, specializing in gold extraction. The Company operates the Moss Mine located in Mohave County in northwestern Arizona, approximately a one hour and a half drive south of Las Vegas, Nevada. Golden Vertex Corp is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Environmental Manager for our Moss Mine project.

About this role – Environmental Manager

The role of Environmental Manager will lead and oversee the environmental permitting, design and management of our open pit mine. This position also provides project-level management duties that include the preparation and review of designs and technical reports, permit amendments, compliance schedules, and other related documentation. This is an exciting opportunity where you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with both legal and contractual environmental requirements for the project, while also supporting our long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility. You will report to the General Manager and be based at Moss Mine located about 5 miles east of Bullhead City, AZ.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all environmental operations, construction, exploration, and monitoring activities to ensure they are managed in accordance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards.

- Assess the environmental impacts associated with project activities, and develop appropriate environmental responses, including permitting and compliance activities.

- Support other departments, such as operations and engineering, in the review and update of specifications, engineering designs, and construction packages to ensure technical and environmental consistency is maintained.

- Coordinate submittal, review, and approvals of environmental requirements for future construction in federal and state lands.

- Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks to the company.

- Develop and implement environmental business practices and policies that align with the organization's overall strategy.

- Monitor, forecast and communicate environmental costs at the project level.

- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct.

- Conduct routine site regulatory planning, reporting and oversight of activities for reclamation, site investigation, baseline studies, design, planning, implementation, and execution.

- Keep up to date with upcoming and potential regulatory changes and modify management systems accordingly.

Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in an environmental science, engineering, or a related field.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

- Experience with state and federal permitting of exploration and mining projects.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

- Knowledge of the MS Suite

Requirements

- Experience at operating mining operations and experience with compliance monitoring programs

- Minimum of (1) one year of experience in environmental management.

- Valid driver’s license.
