Engineering Systems Co-Op:
This Co-Op will research, develop, and introduce new functionality to existing tools. This individual will also be trained to understand CAD and PLM/PDM tools, learning solid modeling and drawing techniques, understanding Engineering change processes, and system administration responsibilities. Co-Ops develop technical skills through challenging assignments and usage of technical tools and will present a summary of their work to leadership teams at the conclusion of the Co-Op assignment.
This position is based onsite at our Waukesha headquarters, and is expected to be a full-time role at 35-40 hours per week. Major Responsibilities
- Shadow and support systems team members to understand CAD & PLM administration processes, such as license administration, installation script creation, server maintenance, and interaction with IT.
- Learn solid modeling and drawing processes in Creo Parametric through self-guided training modules in order to support projects and help to solve user issues.
- Understand purpose and steps of existing Generac change processes through mentorship of systems team in order to support process-related projects and help solve user issues.
- Follow existing project management procedure to independently lead the introduction of a new Engineering tool/ extension.
- Support creation of training materials for internal use or end users.
- Currently pursuing a BS degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
- Understanding or working knowledge of CAD (especially PTC Creo or SolidWorks)
- Microsoft Office experience (including Excel)
- Proficient oral and written communication and able to write clearly and succinctly to get a message across
- Preferred understanding of PLM/PDM (especially PTC Windchill)
- Programming skills helpful: SQL, Python, MuleSoft
- Ability to work in office, 35-40 hours per week during Co-op period
