Job Overview
This is an exciting 16-month co-op student opportunity to provide support to the Engineering Services Team, including discipline engineers and project managers, responsible for the development and execution of facility and pipeline modifications and expansions. The successful co-op student will provide technical support on mechanical engineering related matters including hydraulics modelling, engineering assessments, stress analysis, pump sizing, and material selection. The co-op student will lead or provide input for defining and implementing technical solutions regarding system operations.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide technical and non-technical support on operational and engineering matters, to execute requests from management and stakeholders in a timely manner
- Support engineering services team on the design and installation of mechanical systems
- Provide engineering support to ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Kingston Midstream facilities, considering all aspects of operations, construction, operational risk management, integrity management, and expansion of pipeline operations
- Support technical initiatives, engineering support, and studies within knowledge areas
- Prepare mechanical drawings and review with stakeholders to ensure conformance with standards and compliance with regulation and legislation
- Plan and implement work in accordance with the company's health, safety and environmental policies, company engineering and construction standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable legislation.
- Ensure that correspondence is conducted in a manner that ensures sound relationships with company personnel and contractors
- Support the drive for continuous improvement of processes and procedures
- Office environment, with occasional travel to southeast Saskatchewan, where the Kingston operations and infrastructure is located.
- Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program at a qualified post-secondary institution
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
- Ability to work and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on a frequent basis, including both office and field staff
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license and an acceptable driver's abstract is an asset
Kingston Midstream is committed to providing a flexible work practice to allow office employees to work both from the office and from a remote location. This position may work remotely Mondays and Fridays and in Kingston Midstream’s head office Tuesday to Thursday.
