The Electrical Engineering Co-op Student position at Rising Edge Group is designed for students who are currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program or related field. The co-op student will gain hands-on experience while working under the guidance of experienced engineers and participate in various projects related to electrical systems design, analysis, and implementation. Preference for students looking for longer term co-op positions (8-14 months).
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for various projects, including Transmission and Distribution, Power generation, Industrial, and Renewables sectors.
- Support senior engineers with project documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports.
- Contribute to the analysis of electrical systems and prepare relevant calculations and technical documents.
- Participate in site visits and assist with project coordination among teams and stakeholders.
- Help perform testing and commissioning of electrical systems under senior supervision.
- Develop technical skills by engaging with various tools and software utilized in electrical engineering.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and other team members to contribute to project success.
- Currently enrolled in a Diploma or Degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong academic background in electrical concepts and principles.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering design software and tools is an asset.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively on assigned tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting.
- Must be eligible for co-op work placement as per the program requirements.
