Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) in Surface Operations at Newmont, you will support the safe delivery of surface infrastructure and construction projects. Your technical contributions—from survey control to construction monitoring—will help ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and to design and quality standards.

As Part of Our Team You Will

- Support surface construction projects through planning, execution, and field verification

- Prepare work packages, drawings, quantities, and construction documentation to support the work schedule

- Perform layout, as‑built surveys, and control establishment using RTK GPS, total stations, and related tools

- Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design documents, QA/QC requirements, and safety standards

- Review baseline construction schedules and track progress, budget, and performance

- Submit, track, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) between contractors and responsible engineers

- Support UAV (drone) surveys, mapping, and data processing where applicable

- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and site teams to resolve technical and constructability issues

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

- Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) or Construction / Construction Management

- Registered as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EGBC/APEGBC) or eligible to register (asset)

- Experience or exposure to surveying practices (RTK GPS, total station); survey experience is an asset

- Familiarity with construction QA/QC processes and document control

- Experience reviewing schedules, budgets, and construction progress

- UAV/drone operations experience is an asset; Transport Canada Advanced RPAS licence preferred but not required

- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage technical information flow between multiple stakeholders

The expected salary range for this role is CA$85,400.00 - 113,900.00/yr + 15% STIP . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
