The Emergency Response Technician
provides critical technical and operational support to the Emergency Response team. This role is responsible for the maintenance, testing, and readiness of life-safety respiratory equipment and fire apparatus tools. Beyond equipment upkeep, the technician serves as a vital frontline safety presence, conducting site inspections, performing safety audits, and supporting environmental spill response efforts to ensure a hazard-free work environment. Location: Alpine
- Provides field support of respiratory equipment to include air compressors, air sampling, required testing and maintenance and repair of field emergency response equipment.
- This position may also be a member of the Fire, Medical, Rescue, and Spill Response teams.
- Provide spill response and environmental management support to the assigned area.
- Perform safety audits, identify and record hazard analyses of specific jobs.
- Performs site inspections around the assigned facility to ensure areas are free from all environmental and safety risks.
- The scope of work is to include fire hose testing including large diameter hose; cleaning of respirators used in emergency response training as well as that used in support of field operations.
- Maintenance of small tools and equipment utilized on fire apparatus other non-technical physical labor associated with training in emergency response.
- Must be at least 18 years of age,
- A valid Alaska driver's license
- Willingness to work rotational schedules (e.g. 2x2, 3x3)
- 0-3 years of experience related experience
- Provides technical and/or administrative support
- Demonstrates the ability to learn terminology, applications and standard procedure for performing the job function
- Perform routine, basic office/field tasks using established procedures
- Ability to communicate verbally in English
- Firefighter 1 certification
- Active EMT certification
- Alaska North Slope experience
