Eligibility Specialist – SSI/SSA Benefits Coordination (State of Kentucky)
Position Overview:
The Eligibility Specialist plays a vital role in assisting youth in the care of the State of Kentucky by facilitating the SSI/SSA application process. This position involves in-depth casework, focused communication, and coordination with various stakeholders, including DCBS caseworkers, foster families, Social Security Administration staff, and Disability Determination Services (DDS) adjudicators.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage and maintain a caseload of 100–200 active cases.
•Submit a minimum of 15 SSI/SSA applications per month after completing training.
•Coordinate and communicate regularly with state caseworkers, foster parents, SSA offices, and DDS personnel.
•Review and gather required documentation and medical records to support eligibility.
•Ensure timely and accurate data entry and record maintenance.
•Work independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications:
•Associate degree or higher required.
•Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
•Experience working with Disability Determination Services (DDS) and/or the Social Security Administration (SSA) is highly desirable.
•Prior experience as a caseworker or in a human services-related role is a plus.
•Must successfully pass DCBS background check requirements.
•Must be local to the state of Kentucky.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
