Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electronics & Instrumentation Technician to join our team, focusing on needs of water and wastewater environments. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of electronic and instrumentation systems across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field service, equipment repair, and technical diagnostics, with the ability to work independently in diverse environments. - Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electronic and instrumentation equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, low voltage testers, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electronic systems to minimize downtime.
- Support service technicians in field service operations, including on-site repairs and system upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and system performance data.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Proven experience as a service technician or electronics technician with a focus on instrumentation or electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience of 5 years minimum with equipment repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting in industrial or commercial settings.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, networking, and software used for system diagnostics is preferred.
- Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical skills related to low voltage systems.
- Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, and multimeters including ohmmeters.
- Prior field service experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical work is essential. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting with a focus on safety and efficiency. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills, technical proficiency in electronics and instrumentation systems, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in dynamic environments.
