Riverfront Machine is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrical Maintenance Associate to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and controls across CNC machines, press equipment, welding systems, material handling equipment, and facility infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position plays a key role in minimizing downtime, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining a safe workplace.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on CNC machines, stamping presses, welders, and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose issues involving motors, drives, sensors, relays, PLCs, HMIs, and control panels.
- Perform electrical repairs, wiring, and component replacement in accordance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Inspect electrical panels, wiring, and controls to identify potential failures or safety concerns.
- Document maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with production, tool room, and maintenance teams to restore equipment to safe operating condition.
- Support equipment startups, changeovers, and modifications.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash, and electrical safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with facility electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Provide input on equipment upgrades and electrical improvements.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.- Ability to work overtime including occassional Saturday shifts.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, controls, and schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience troubleshooting motors, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits.
- Technical degree or electrical apprenticeship training.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting
- Familiarity with CNC machines, stamping presses, welding equipment, or material handling systems.
- OSHA or NFPA 70E electrical safety training.
- Manufacturing and maintenance shop environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work on the shop floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate tools and components up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work overtime or off-shift hours as needed to support production.

The pay range listed for this position reflects the base wage and is provided in compliance with Illinois law. Placement within the range is based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. Bonus eligibility, if applicable, is separate and based on performance and company criteria.
