Surepoint is looking for a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team in Nisku, Alberta. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing precise and timely full-cost estimates for electrical projects, covering both materials and labor. You'll manage multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and on-time submission.
Key Responsibilities
•Prepare comprehensive electrical estimates, from conceptual design to detailed tenders, including material take-offs, labor, and equipment costs.
•Complete the entire bidding process, which involves analyzing bid packages and scope of work, and collecting and analyzing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
•Identify and quantify project risks, allocate contingencies, and suggest optimal solutions based on cost, quality, and material availability.
•Collaborate closely with internal teams to determine costs for RFIs and additional work orders.
•Present and review estimates with stakeholders ensuring alignment and clear communication.
•Prepare detailed cost estimates for scope changes and change notices identified during project execution.
•Participate in bid strategy discussions, project kick-off, and close-out meetings.
•Maintain thorough documentation for estimates, ensuring all bids adhere to proper guidelines and codes.
•Liaise with electrical suppliers, manufacturers, engineers, and lighting agencies to secure competitive pricing and validate material costs.
Qualifications
•A Certified Electrical Journeyman ticket.
•A minimum of 5 years of dedicated electrical estimating experience.
•Strong ability to read, interpret, and validate blueprints, specifications, and design drawings.
•Proficient knowledge and understanding of Electrical Codes.
•Experience with Accubid is a significant asset.
•Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all estimates.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and external partners.
•Outstanding organizational and time management skills to handle multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage pressure, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
