Electrical Construction Estimator

Job Title: Estimator

Tekline Electrical Services is looking for an Estimator to join our team in Chandler, AZ. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing material, labor, and equipment costs, and preparing estimates for commercial electrical projects. The desired candidate will have a minimum 2 years of commercial electrical estimator experience, advanced proficiency in Excel, and be skilled in estimating. To be successful in this role, you must be an analytical thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Develop standards for labor, material, and equipment estimates

· Maintain and update standard estimates

· Develop and review final estimates for all projects

· Enter final estimates into company budgeting software

· Review scope documents with sales team and confirm specs

· Communicate with procurement to ensure all costs are up to date

· Review project documentation to gain a full understanding of the project requirements

· Collect and analyze data by assembling proposals, drawings, specs, and related documents

· Attend project site walks and conduct site analysis and pre-bid for improved project understanding

· Work with project management team on change orders

· Assist the business development team with qualifying clients

· Attend pre-bid or team scope review meetings to understand the complete scope of work required

· Review and understand all the project bid documents

· Locate, notify, and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced work

· Evaluate bids of subcontractors and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, compliance with specifications, or other bid requirements

· Understand general electrical design and engineering concepts

· Maintain estimating database to keep current and accurate

· Prepare estimates on multiple projects concurrently

Required Qualifications:

· Minimum of 2 years working as an electrical estimator

· Skilled in prioritizing, organization, and time management

· General understanding of electrical design and engineering concepts

· Ability to layout branch circuiting, understand contract drawings and specifications

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work on a team and build working relationships within all levels of the organization

· Computer literate and comfortable with spreadsheets and computerized takeoff programs

· Detail-oriented with the drive to accomplish set goals
