Overview:
Hampton Tedder has an opening for an electrical estimator for substations. The estimator will be working directly with our General Manager in estimating new construction builds of electrical substations for industrial, utility, generation, and renewable energy customers. This is a full-time position in our Montclair, CA or Orange, CA offices.

Ideal candidate must be able to work cohesively with various teams and demonstrate intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skill level, attention to detail, and have the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•Prepare submittal documentation necessary for bidding and project execution.
•Prepare electronic documentation such as job cost spreadsheets and project schedules.
•Deliver bids and associated bid documents
•Visit and organize job close outs.
•Assist with reviewing prints, plans, schematics, and other technical and commercial specifications to develop and prepare technical solutions and cost estimates for customers.
•Tracks and communicates to customers, project managers, field technicians, other contractors, and vendors about all ongoing and future projects.
•Organize, manage, and monitor relevant project files such as drawings, specifications, work orders invoices, and various other documentation.
•Assist in RFQ responses with the preparation and delivery of proposals to customers within defined lead times.
Essential Skills:
•Able to meet strict deadlines
•Good electrical background with the ability to read drawings / schematics
•Prefer 1-2 years of electrical field experience, college degree, or military background
•Possess organization and document control skills
•Desire to learn and grow
•Must have valid CA driver’s license, USA citizen, and no felony(s) in the last 7 years.
•Ability to type 40+ words per minute
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
•Position requires ability to lift, bend, reach above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, prolonged standing and/or sitting
•All applicants will be tested on their level of Excel knowledge and typing speed.

Experience:
Microsoft Office Suite: 2 years (Preferred)
Electrical Estimating: 1 year (Preferred)
College Degree: Bachelors in engineering or mathematics based (Preferred)
