Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes; consistently completing work to meet customer specifications.
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electrician
- Strong knowledge of electrical measuring and test equipment such as ohmmeters, ammeters, meggers, Hi-Pot, and continuity testers
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Ability to properly layout and install electrical raceways, conduit and cable tray supports and cable trays.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
