Easton Velocity Installer Trainee
Easton Utilities is currently seeking an Easton Velocity Installer Trainee.
HIRING RANGE: $19.65/hr. or higher depending upon experience
JOB OBJECTIVE: Perform quality Cable Television, High Speed Data, and Digital Voice installations in accordance with the NCTA recommended practice. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with on-call duty requirement.
- Must have good verbal communication skills, customer service skills and ability to work well with the public.
- Must successfully complete Jones/NCTI career path curriculum for Entry Level Installer as described in the Cable & Communications Department Career Path Outline within 6 months of start date.
- Must successfully demonstrate the ability to perform standard installations in accordance with NCTA recommended practices and Easton Utilities policies.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Job involves climbing, lifting, bending, working in attics, crawlspaces, and digging in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must wear proper PPE at all times.
- LEARNING ABILITY- The ability to absorb new information readily and to put it into practice effectively.
- FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS- The ability to effectively hear, understand, and follow directions or instructions; the willingness to postpone making personal decisions, or taking action, until you have openly listened to what you are being asked to do.
- Perform customer underground or aerial service drop installation in accordance with NCTA recommended practices and Easton Utilities policies.
- Perform customer digital terminal installations and interface with customer equipment.
- Perform customer High Speed Data installations and interface with customer equipment.
- Perform customer Digital Voice installation and interface with customer equipment.
- Perform monthly disconnects for non-payment, reconnects and relocations as scheduled by the Customer Service Representatives.
- Stay abreast of all information related to pricing, tier levels, services and PPV in order to answer customer inquiries.
- Investigate and troubleshoot service complaints to ensure quality cable television service.
- Ensure FCC signal leakage compliance through proper installation of cable and digital or analog converters.
- Strive to provide uninterrupted cable service through proper maintenance of underground and overhead lines.
- Ensure the proper operation of converter inventory prior to customer installations.
- Communicate regularly with the Customer Service Representatives in order to efficiently carry out appointments as scheduled.
- Regular, reliable attendance is a requirement of this job.
