Driver CDL A

Stack Metallurgical Services, LLC, based in Swan Island, is looking for an experienced driver with a valid CDL Class A License - 2 years of experience is preferred.

Full-time, Monday - Friday, Days.

LTL, City Deliveries, Flatbed, Long-Haul, and forklift experience required.

Summary

The CDL A Driver is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of materials. This position plays a vital role in daily operations and supports both internal and external customers while maintaining compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations. Upon request from the supervisor and/or management, drivers may also perform receiving inspection on material in preparation for Order Entry, assists customers in-house and answer phone when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Driving & Compliance

- Follow all FMCSA regulations, including:

- 10 consecutive hours off-duty requirement

- Accurate electronic log maintenance; verified weekly by Supervisor

- Adhere to dispatch schedules and timelines

- Wrap pallets for own route unless directed otherwise

- Perform dock work as assigned by Supervisor

- Load and unload company vehicles

- Maintain mileage logs, complete safety inspections, and refuel vehicle

- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and scheduled maintenance

Customer Service & Communication

- Deliver and pick up customer materials as assigned

- Complete same-day deliveries unless otherwise directed

- Build strong customer relationships through professional communication

- Report any route changes to and obtain approval from Supervisor

- Relay special handling or processing instructions to Supervisor and/or Management

- Discuss all customer feedback with Supervisor and/or Management

Paperwork & Documentation

- Print and verify shipping paperwork

- Keep all paperwork organized and legible

Shipping/Receiving Duties (When assigned by Supervisor and/or Management)

- Load and unload customer vehicles

- Complete receiving inspections accurately

- Tag all incoming materials

- Package parts for shipment following company standards

- Follow internal paperwork flow, QA, and shop floor policies

- Operate forklift and answer phones as needed

- Help maintain a clean and organized work area

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CDL A License and DOT medical certificate required. Forklift certification required and will be provided by Stack Portland.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Good driving record required.
