About This Opportunity
The Drilling Systems Technician will support the team with daily reporting and data analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency across related workflows. This role involves maintaining accurate data across drilling, completions, workovers and abandonments, ensuring quality control, and supporting users with reporting tools and system training.
Job functions will involve: Operations Support
- Perform ongoing audits of daily reports for Drilling, Completions, Workovers/LOEs, and Abandonments
- Review and verify vendor reports, including directional surveys, Hazard Identification reports, Mud Reports, and Geology, ensuring accuracy within the daily reporting system
- Identify, add, and maintain vendor records; update cost and vendor information as needed
- Audit job time logs, confirm correct start and end times, and make adjustments to maintain data integrity
- Review wells and jobs created by other users for consistency and data quality
- Lock completed jobs once daily operations are finalized
- Create and distribute operational reports and updates to stakeholders
- Manage daily reporting system support equipment billing
- Prepare and share key performance and well summary (EOW) reports following job completion
- Run data cleanups and generate custom reports or queries as requested
- Maintain security groups, output distribution lists, and tracking sheets to ensure appropriate system access
- Update tight hole groups as needed
- Maintain the vendor library and archive outdated well files
- Create, edit, and improve audits and operational reports
- Ensure data accuracy and standardization across the daily reporting system and related systems
- Respond to user inquiries and support requests related to the daily reporting
- Update well information, including license or amendment changes
- Support onboarding and training of new users, ensuring appropriate system access and resource setup
- Post-secondary education
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with a daily reporting system is preferred
- Familiarity with drilling, completions, and well lifecycle will be considered an asset
- Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively in a team environment is essential
