Drilling & Completions Data Technician

Description:

The Drilling & Completions Data Technician provides day-to-day data support for Fervo’s drilling and completions operations. This role is responsible for maintaining data accuracy in operational systems, building and maintaining dashboards for reporting, and assisting in the preparation of regular operational summaries.

This position is a high-impact support role that works closely with Drilling & Completions Engineers, while engineers retain primary responsibility for operational decisions and technical ownership.

Responsibilities

Operational Data Management & QA/QC

- Own QAQC of WellView inputs for daily drilling and completions operations reports

- Validate operational and cost data against field activity and engineering inputs; flag discrepancies for resolution

- Maintain data quality standards to ensure consistency across drilling and completions systems

- Support accurate, timely cost tracking and operational reporting

Dashboards & Data Visualization

- Build, maintain, and continuously improve Drilling & Completions Power BI dashboards that provide clear visibility into operational performance, costs, and execution metrics

- Translate operational and engineering inputs into consistent, well-structured datasets and visualizations that support day-to-day decision-making

- Partner with Drilling & Completions Engineers and other stakeholders to define metrics, standardize data definitions, and improve dashboard usability

- Own data refresh, validation, and documentation processes to ensure dashboards remain accurate, reliable, and aligned with active operations

Operations Reporting & Coordination

- Aggregate drilling and completions data to support preparation of regular operations reports

- Ensure data alignment across WellView, cost systems, and operational dashboards

- Respond to ad hoc data requests related to drilling performance and costs

- Maintain organized documentation and data outputs to support internal reviews and continuous improvement

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Data Analytics, or a related technical field; or 10+ years of experience with reporting software and data dashboards in lieu of a degree

- Experience supporting operational data, reporting, or technical workflows in drilling, completions, or related field operations

- Familiarity with WellView (preferred) or similar drilling and completions data systems

- Strong attention to detail and comfort performing data QA/QC

- Deep, hands-on experience with Power BI (or equivalent), including end-to-end dashboard development, data modeling, and visualization for business decision-making.

- Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with structured operational datasets

- Strong organizational and communication skills

- Exposure to drilling and completions cost tracking, AFE reporting, or cost structures

- Experience working closely with field operations or drilling and completions engineering teams

- Experience building or maintaining operational dashboards used by field or engineering teams

- Familiarity with drilling or completions data workflows, reporting cadence, and operational KPIs

- Experience working in fast-paced, execution-focused project environments

Location

Fervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX, with growing offices in Oakland, CA; Golden, CO; Reno, NV; and Salt Lake City, UT. This position is eligible for hybrid work flexibility; however, regular in-person presence at the Houston office will be required.
