The Technician, Mine Operations - Driller will safely operate drills and related equipment while ensuring operational needs are being met in a safe and environmentally sound manner.

- Operate a variety of drills and related equipment in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner.

- Ensure all machinery is safe, appropriately document and report any faults or potential hazards.

- Strict adherence to safety in all tasks and interactions, including pre-start up, start-up and shut-down checks.

- Follow standard operating procedures and monitor all equipment and gauges for irregularities.

- Take appropriate corrective action to prevent any negative impact on the environment or quality and report non-compliance.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience

- Previous experience in a mine or other heavy industry environment.

- Grade 12 education preferred

- Familiarity with drills and previous experience working near earth moving equipment.

- Experience with Sandvik drills preferred, DI650i & DR410i.

- A team player with solid communication skills.

- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

- First aid and other relevant certifications would be an asset.

- Good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential requirements.

Working Conditions

- The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off (12 hour days).
