The Role:

We are looking for a motivated and highly collaborative Freelance experienced Draftsperson to support our Construction and Design team. This is a critical support role and you will be working as an integral part of our team. Working closely with our Project Leads, you will prepare comprehensive drawing packages, including resources, timeframes, and utilizing our drawing standards. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in Drafting and be highly skilled in interpreting architectural designs and turning them into highly technical drawings.This role’s critical function is founded in Architectural Technology, Drafting and Project Coordination, project documentation, and tracking progress to ensure projects remain on deadline and in scope are all necessary components.

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines. This role will enable you to showcase both your Drafting skills as well as design to execution.

Core Responsibilities:

- Prepare highly detailed technical drawings and plans according to Architectural designs

- Work closely with Project Leads to estimate and track activities, resources, equipment, and information for each design project; from inception to completion.

- Track resource allocation and hours spent for design projects

- Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance inspections.

- Shop Drawing Review.

- Prepare and administer RFP packages, ensuring you are adhering to quality standards.

- Liaise with stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives.

- Prepare and maintain a database of typical CAD details used.

- Assist in the creation of working tenant improvement drawings.

- Analyze risks and opportunities within project scope.

- Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise.

- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports.

- Develop and administer a library of materials and equipment that will form a Brand Standard.

Requirements

- University degree or College Diploma in Drafting, Architectural Technology or similar

- 3+ years of experience in Drafting or Architectural Technology Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp

- Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering

- Strong understanding of Canadian building codes, zoning laws, and regulations (preferably in gas stations)

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word.

- Established track record in project delivery, from conception to completion

- Experience and ability to prepare and interpret drawings, schedules and estimates

- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management

- Working knowledge of retail petroleum facilities considered an asset
