Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Markham, ON, for a Drafter.

The Drafter will be responsible for:

- Resolve discrepancies by analyzing and presenting numerical and descriptive data.

- preparing detailed drawings of window wall systems and glass, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

- Quantity Takeoff, quantifying materials, labor, equipment, and other resources needed for the project based on project specifications and drawings.

- Support the tender and construction processes through submittal reviews, shop drawings, and RFIs.

- Cost Estimation, using cost databases, historical data, and industry knowledge to calculate the cost of materials, labor, subcontractors, overhead, and other expenses.

- Proactively preparing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings from architectural and structural drawings using AutoCAD.

- Working closely with the PM in coordinating drawings in compliance with specifications and scope of work.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in CAD software and technical drawing.

- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in the construction and window wall systems sector.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience with project documentation and record maintenance.

- Relevant educational background in drafting, engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an architectural firm or architectural building envelope firm.
