Ketek Group Inc:
From its 10 locations in Western and Northern Canada, Ketek is able to provide services and rental equipment to clients throughout the region’s oil and gas, mining, construction, and municipal sectors.
Position Background:
The Drafter is responsible for preparing drawings for the manufacturing of equipment to the specifications provided by Ketek and its clients. The Drafter must also coordinate with the appropriate departments and/or companies if engineering and/or outsourced processes are required. This position requires safe work practices at all times and that ISO 9001 Quality Management System guidelines are followed.
Core Duties:
•Collaborate with Shop Manager, Shop Foreman, Project Teams and clients to design, review, and develop sketches, 3D Models, drawings and associated calculations to suit required scope
•Generate drawings, using 2D & 3D drafting software, with required dimensions and details, for fabrication, R&D and bid/quote purposes
•Responsible for the creation, development, completion and administration of all drawings, as needed upon request by Ketek and/or its clients
•Ensure that drawings meet Ketek/client standards and ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements
•Coordinate with other departments/companies if drawings require engineering and/or outsourced processes
•Administration and completion of all drawings and associated paperwork, including electronic filing and labelling
•Ensure drawings are revised, during or after completion of a project, and adhere to Ketek/clients approval process
•Development and administration of Ketek drafting standards and processes
•Collaborating with Manufacturing Manager to develop fabrication processes
•Visit site locations to measure and document parts and equipment
•Successfully complete safety training as required on an ongoing basis
•Ensure all Ketek work procedures, policies and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations are followed

Qualifications and Skills:
Required
•Technical Drafting certificate/training
•Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)
•Excellent verbal, listening and visualization skills
•Education in 2d & 3D drafting and/or design software
•Knowledge of manufacturing and steel processes, with respect to design and drafting
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines
•Ability to handle changing schedules and priorities, with high level prioritization skills
•Strong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detail
•Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred
•Intermediate MS Office Skills (Excel, Word)
•Experience and/or knowledge of the oilfield and manufacturing industry
•Experience and/or knowledge of structural steel design and construction
•Experience with SolidWorks software including PDM setup and programming
•Experience with TEKLA modeling software
•Experience with AutoCAD software

Physical Demands
•Regularly required to stand/sit, talk/hear, use hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone, stoop, and kneel
•Prolonged periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens
•Light to moderate lifting (up to 20lbs) may be required
Work Environment
•Office environment (80%), field environment (10%), and shop/yard environment (10%)
•May be required to work weekends and outside of regular office hours
•May be required to visit remote customer sites/facilities
•Exposure to fabrication shop environment and associated risks, loud noises, arc flash from welding processes etc. which requires proper use of PPE
