We are a small ISO 9001-certified fabrication and engineering company (12-15 people) specializing in complex component design, engineering, and fabrication for a wide range of industries and clients.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in creating detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks and/or Inventor, with a proven track record of at least 5 years in a similar role. This position requires a thorough understanding of structural steel shapes and manufacturing processes, and experience in project management is highly desirable. You will play a crucial role in translating design concepts into precise and accurate drawings for fabrication and construction.
Responsibilities:
•Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, adhering to industry standards and project specifications.
•Develop fabrication and assembly drawings for metal weldments, including structural steel.
•Generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and cut lists.
•Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
•Review and interpret customer-supplied manufacturing and structural drawings/source material.
•Maintain and organize project documentation per internal standards.
•Identify and resolve design discrepancies and potential fabrication issues.
•Manage project timelines and deliverables (if project management experience is applicable).
•Provide technical support to manufacturing and construction teams.
•Apply knowledge of structural steel shapes (e.g., wide flange beams, channels, angles) and manufacturing processes (e.g., welding, cutting, forming).
•Utilize existing vendors to procure material and project costs
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a relevant role.
•Proficiency in SolidWorks and Revit software.
•Strong understanding of structural steel shapes and manufacturing processes.
•Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
•Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
•Strong communication and collaboration skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Experience in project management is a significant plus.
•Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
