CAD Drafter

Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Job Summary:·

Designs and prepares detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts and/or scale drawings for complex projects from observations, measurements, sketches and specifications.

· Interfaces with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and material required.

· Prepares electronic layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings and material and equipment requirements from sketches, specifications and standard layouts provided by customers, consultants, and/or departmental contacts; reviews and manipulates electronic files received from consultants and department contacts.

· Makes basic computation to determine layout of charts, strength of materials and requirements for structural design.

· Revises computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction.
