SUMMARY
Support Structural Project Engineers in the Engineering department with detailed construction documents, drawings and construction specifications and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position works under the minimal supervision and reports to the Director of Engineering in the performance of the following essential duties:
•Ability to produce architectural and/or structural construction documents using AutoCAD.
•General knowledge of each of the main components in architectural drawings; site plans, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, roof plans, building sections, exterior and interior elevations.
•Reviews engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
•Familiar with a variety of the construction field concepts, practices, and procedures.
•Assist structural engineers in preparing detailed construction documents.
•Works under the direction of a supervisor with minimal supervision.
•Relies on instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
•Strong knowledge of architectural drafting and design standards.
•Must have the ability to work on multiple projects.
•General knowledge of the OCE printing hardware/software platform and/or similar large document printing platforms.
•Understand various digital file formats and how to manipulate/translate them in order to create useable CAD drawings.
•Basic knowledge of REVIT models to generate shop drawings.
•Other duties may be assigned as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Two to five years of drafting experience working in the construction industry is preferred. Requires an Associate Degree or computer aided drafting technician certificate.
