Dozer Operator

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with five operating mines in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Dozer Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Dozer Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating tracked Dozers varying in operating weight.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate the dozer in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.

- Monitor gauges, and other indicators to ensure the dozer is working properly, report discrepancies to dispatch.

- Perform field level risk assessments.

- Maintain a high level of housekeeping as well as lubricating and refilling all fluids as required.

- Use two-way-radio, horn, and light signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.

- Use the dozer according to operating practices to push and place materials such as overburden, sand, gravel, blasted rock, and snow. Build pads, build roads, prep drill patterns, rip & maintain pit floors, support loading units as well as perform shovel clean ups.

Required Experience And Skill Set

- 2+ years of experience operating a dozer at a mine site.

Certifications

- Valid driver's license.

- Heavy Equipment Operator training or related experience required.

- Ontario Surface Common Core training is an asset.
