Job Overview:
The Document Control Coordinator is responsible for the administration and maintenance of controlled documents in a manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards (such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485), and regulatory requirements. The coordinator works closely with departments such as Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs to support document workflows and maintain documentation accuracy throughout the document lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
•Maintain and control manufacturing documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, batch records, specifications, quality manuals, and equipment logs.
•Coordinate document change control processes including creation, review, revision, and approval routing.
•Ensure that only current, approved versions of documents are in use on the production floor and that obsolete documents are archived properly.
•Manage document databases and electronic document management systems (EDMS) to track version control, approvals, and distribution.
•Assist with the preparation and formatting of controlled documents and templates in compliance with internal and external standards.
•Support internal and external audits by ensuring timely retrieval and presentation of accurate documentation.
•Work closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to implement continuous improvements in documentation practices.
•Provide training and guidance to employees on document control procedures and systems.
•Conduct periodic audits of document control systems and practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications:·
•High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or higher in Business, Quality, or a technical field preferred.·
•2+ years of experience in a document control or administrative role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:·
•Working knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or cGMP.·
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document control software.·
•Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.·
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.·
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:·
•Primarily office-based within a manufacturing facility.·
•May require occasional access to production areas.·
•May involve lifting boxes of files or materials (up to 25 lbs).
Work Schedule:
· Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
· Half hour lunch
