The Director of Strategy and Development is responsible for the development of new clients in the Electric Utility industry, leveraging existing relationships to set up sale meetings with key role players with the identified, targeted utility companies.
- Develop and communicate new strategies to business unit leaders and other members of executive management as requested;
- Pursue new clients with the intent of growing EDG’s electric utilities business;
- Develop or participate in proposal development for company services to include existing service offerings or new offerings;
- Develop strong understanding of company processes and make recommendations where needed to improve proposals and project success;
- Further develop concepts established by business development personnel;
- Engage target Utility Supply Chain to ensure company participation in bid events;
- Interfaces directly with clients and potential clients;
- May participate in activities to ensure resources are available to meet the needs of new business (for example, recruitment, identifying training opportunities and other employee development).
- Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in the engineering, maintenance and construction sector of the electric utilities industry;
- Requires a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in management roles;
- Work history must reflect current or prior responsibility in change management, growth strategies, safety culture, contract management and the regulatory requirements in the industry;
- Work history must reflect a strong understanding of capital projects in the electric utility industry.
- Work is primarily conducted in an office or business environment.
- Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis to obtain project field data or attend project meetings.
- Field duties may require outdoor work in industrial, residential or commercial construction environments.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
