The Operations Excellence (OPEX) Director drives operational performance improvements at the branches by
coaching, mentoring, and collaborating with the Operations team. They establish key performance indicators
(KPIs) and engage team members to enhance efficiency and safety, ensuring progress aligns with the business
plan.
Salary for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.

What You'll Be Doing
•Develops and executes a 2-3-year business plan ensuring alignment with the overall corporate strategic plan and immediate manager’s business plan.
•Helps the Senior Operations Leaders to formulate the multiyear annual improvement plan.
•Leads the OPEX initiatives for designated branches.
•Identifies opportunities for improvement and creates with Branch leaders a corresponding action plan to execute.
•Develops and deploys visual management tools, standardizes best work practices, and document processes.
•Establishes, promotes and maintains communication channels with Badger Senior Leadership Team.
•Trains and coaches branch team members on continuous improvements.
•Facilitates strong collaboration across key stakeholders e.g. IT, SHS, Fleet, etc.
•Participates in Gemba walks and engage with front-line staff to gather input, identify pain points, and co- create solutions.
•Builds relationships and coaches team members to foster a continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization.
•Develops and leads structured project plans and change management strategies to support successful adoption of new processes.
•Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to measure project impact and operational performance.
•Prepares and delivers regular updates on project status and OPEX performance metrics for the branches assigned.
•Ensures process changes comply with safety regulations, company standards, and best practices.
•Partners with Safety Advisors to ensure that continuous improvement initiatives enhance the safety and wellbeing of all team members.
What We're Looking For
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, systems, or another relatable field required. MBA preferred.
•Minimum of 15 years’ experience in continuous improvements, Operations Excellence, or Lean Manufacturing.
•Proven record of Lean/OPEX successful implementation.
•Proficiency in driving Operations Excellence, Lean, and Change Management.
•Detail-oriented manager with excellent problem-solving skills, follow-through, and a commitment to results.
•Results-oriented with collaborative leadership.
•Excellent project management, execution, and organizational skills.
•Strong analytical skills, identifies and analyzes problems, breaking down causes and corrective actions.
•Able to communicate and work with all levels of the organization, from operators to senior leaders.
•Experience in developing and reporting on key performance metrics.
•Strong decision-making skills and a result-driven approach.
•Hands-on leader with direct knowledge of SMART goal setting, strategy deployment, goal setting, root cause and countermeasure problem solving, 5S, and standard work.
•Ability to move around the office and other work environments, including standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
•Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
•Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
•Good vision to read and analyze data, documents, and computer screens.
•Clear verbal communication skills for facilitating workshops and training sessions.
•Adequate hearing ability to participate in meetings and discussions.
•Willingness and ability to travel extensively to branches, meetings and training sessions.
