We are looking to hire a Director, Operations
based out of our
Brooks, Calgary, Drumheller, Medicine Hat or Red DeerBranch.
The Director, Operations is responsible for ensuring alignment and efficiency with strategic goals by overseeing several branch operations, implementing and following processes and managing Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) services (maintenance, small construction, and branch specific technical shared services) within the assigned region. The role will assist in developing division financial plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing vendors and partners and leveraging expertise in E&I technologies and systems to optimize performance and drive profitable growth.
- Lead, motivate, and organize branch teams to foster an inclusive and productive work environment.
- Conduct all aspects of people management and development of direct reports.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and branch managers in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans for the division.
- Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, including project execution, construction, logistics, and fleet management within the division.
- Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day operations of the region to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
- Analyze and implement improved processes, new technologies, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Interface with client’s key stakeholders to develop and foster business relationships, including attracting new and maintaining existing business, negotiating terms of agreements and reviewing contracts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with department heads, vendors, suppliers, and strategic partners to inform decisions regarding operational activities and strategic goals.
- Assist with the development and execution of financial plans, monitoring revenue and margins, and conducting budget reviews to maximize profitability within the region.
- Oversee all maintenance activity to ensure adherence to the company’s policies, standards and procedures, and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Related University degree, college diploma, and/or trade certification and typically 12 or
- Minimum of 5 or more years of people leadership experience.
- Must hold all valid safety tickets required under CDN Controls ULC’s Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) program.
- Proven experience in operations leadership, with a strong background in E&I practices, finance, and strategy.
- Understanding of E&I principles, SCADA, IT, communications systems, and control applications.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes.
- Excellent business planning, budget management and financial management skills.
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Power BI reporting.
