GMB Powerline Services pledges to our customers, colleagues, and community members to provide the best in industry standards for restoring electrical services. We are a family owned and operated organization based out of West Virginia. We service the lower Southeast, upper Northeast and reach as far as the Midwest to help maintain and restore power to the communities we serve. We pull our crews together from our satellite locations to answer the call quickly and efficiently. When a call comes in for the probability of an outage we will travel near and far to aid in the restoration of power.

Position Summary:
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for building a solid book of utility business in delivering results including meeting or exceeding annual revenue goals, line segment expansion and total contract value targets to grow GMB business.
This role will be responsible for bringing in new business from across the utilities industry and related industries. The Director of Business Development – Northeast will own the sales process from initial customer contact through closing deals within the Northeast Region. This individual will identify leads, develop connections, scope projects, negotiate terms, and drive through the close of a contract. In addition to day-to-day business development, the role may encompass business research, supporting internal sales operations, and leading client relationships in coordination with field operations.
Overall Objectives:
•Develop business relationships with key utility executives, influential resources, and industry partners.
•Responsible for revenue generation across the utility industry.
Specific Tasks:
•Responsible for business development and expansion.
•Contributes to and supports the overall strategy for the business.
•Provide executive management with creative solutions for service growth ideas and opportunities.
•Develop a customer database and maintain customer contact methods including leads, contacts, and opportunities using company provided resources.
•Create and maintain opportunity pipeline forecasting.
•Regularly travel overnight to perform client calls and actively seek to develop new clients within the assigned geographic territory.
•Plan, organize, schedule, and manage personal travel schedule.
•Routinely meet with decision maker utility client executives to reinforce GMB’s services and to establish long-term client relationships, during and beyond normal business hours.
•Plan and attend various statewide and national conferences with the potential to develop and deliver presentations.
•Other duties as directed.
Education Requirements & Experience Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree; or work-related equivalent
•Experience in utility-focused sales roles
•Expertise and successful leadership in high value contract negotiations
•Knowledge of utility industry, operations, and asset management
•In-depth, cross-functional operational knowledge of U.S. utilities organizations and their ways of working
•Engaged to accept greater management responsibilities as line segments grow
