Overview:
Universal Oil is a 147-year-old, 100% employee-owned fuel & lubricant company in Cleveland. We seek a proactive and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Assistant to support our growing e-commerce and marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with major online retail platforms, content creation, and digital marketing tools. You’ll play a key role in managing listings, handling customer interactions, supporting email and social media campaigns, and helping to expand our brand presence across multiple channels.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
E-Commerce Operations
•Manage and maintain product listings across platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and WooCommerce
•Enter and process customer orders accurately and efficiently
•Respond to customer inquiries, process refunds, and provide excellent support
•Build out and optimize new sales channels, specifically Walmart and eBay
•Support and build out our direct-to-consumer Presidential Engineered Lubricants website
Creative & Content Development
•Create and edit listing images and marketing assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign a plus)
•Assist with blog writing, product descriptions, and marketing copy aligned with brand voice
•Develop and schedule email marketing campaigns and newsletters
Digital Marketing & Analytics
•Manage and grow our social media presence across platforms
•Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities
•Optimize listings and website content for SEO
•Utilize Google Merchant Center, Google Analytics, and SEO tools to monitor and improve performance
•Understand and contribute to customer journey mapping and marketing funnels
Administrative & Technical Tasks
•Competently use Excel and Google Sheets for data entry, reporting, and analysis
•Support the ongoing development and management of our UO website project in collaboration with leadership
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing or Associate’s degree in marketing plus equivalent experience
•2+ years of experience in a marketing or e-commerce assistant role
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Highly organized with excellent time management
•Self-motivated and comfortable working independently or in a team
Preferred Qualifications
•Knowledge of paid advertising, including Google Ads and Amazon PPC
•Experience using Klaviyo for email automation
•Familiarity with tools such as Helium 10, Sellerboard, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms
•Previous experience managing or launching a branded website
