We are looking for a Diesel Truck and Trailer Mechanic who will repair and maintain equipment. Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose defects. Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Keep all files in the order in accordance with DOT Guidelines.
- Estimate time and material costs on repairs and requisitions new parts; Advise supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed.
- Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, air systems and tires on vehicles and equipment.
- Reviews and completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
- Performs maintenance related work as required.
- Test Drive Vehicles to verify deficiency and verify repairs made
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Inspect the quality of outside/supplier repairs and or rebuilds.
- Assesses structural damage and assigns needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s).
- Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to other maintenance personnel.
- CDL A or B
- Certified Air Brake and Annual DOT
