Job Overview:
We’re seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair equipment in various environments and weather conditions. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You’ll be working both independently and alongside teams across different job sites.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on Class 7 & 8 fleet equipment
- Maintain accurate service records and vehicle inspection reports
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems, ABS systems, engines, transmissions, suspensions, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain inventory of repair parts and service fluids
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
- Perform general labor and assist with day-to-day shop tasks
- Adhere to all TanMar and customer safety protocols at all times
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic (Class 7 & 8)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Dealership experience (Mack/VOLVO preferred)
- Certifications in Mack/VOLVO, VCads, WiTECH
- Knowledge of John Deere engines and Cornell Pumps
- Understanding of SCR and DPF systems
- EPA Type II Certification
- Hydraulic system diagnostic skills
- Experience with A/C and electrical systems
- Own basic mechanic tools
