Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and equipment. - Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and other heavy equipment systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components using power tools, welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific repair or customization needs.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues on machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers.
- Repair or replace shocks & struts, brakes, HVAC systems, electrical components, and perform wheel alignments to ensure safety standards are met.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Proven experience working with dealership or heavy equipment repair environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and automotive diagnostics.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with schematics interpretation.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks including tire service, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment procedures.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, service manuals, and diagnostic software relevant to heavy-duty vehicles.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
