We are seeking a competent and organized Diesel Mechanic to join our team and support our construction crews in the field and mechanic shop.
Position Summary:
As a Diesel Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical and technical issues on diesel-powered equipment and newer truck models. This role requires a self-motivated individual capable of performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs independently, often on-site and in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
•Diagnoses and repair diesel engine issues
•Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, steering systems, and more
•Perform regular preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
•Conduct welding and fabrication as needed for equipment repairs
•Prepare detailed work orders and manage parts procurement
•Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
•Travel to job sites and work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED required
•Valid driver’s license (Class A or B CDL preferred, not required)
•Degree or certification in diesel mechanics/technology a plus
•Demonstrated experience with small diesel engine repair
•Welding and fabrication experience
•Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic, and fuel systems
•Familiarity with truck onboard technology systems is highly desirable
•Basic computer and math skills
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•Ability to work in all weather conditions and flexible hours as needed
Additional Requirements:
•Must pass a pre-employment drug test and DOT physical
•Must be a self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
•Comfortable working on the road and in field-based settings
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
